Installation, Usage and FAQ
Installation takes about 20 minutes and can be done by a user with basic motorcycle electrics knowledge, or by any motorcycle mechanic. There's no need to cut the original wiring or drill into the motorcycle.

Checking the motorcycle information
It is verified that the supplied chain application adapter matches the motorcycle's brand, model and model year.

Preparing the motorcycle safely
The motorcycle is moved to a flat, safe area. The ignition is switched off and it is ensured the motorcycle will not move during installation.

Positioning the main unit
The main control unit is mounted away from the exhaust line, hot engine parts, the chain and sprockets, the suspension's range of motion, the tire, and areas exposed to direct pressurized water, secured with the clamps or double-sided fixing tape from the box.

Placing the oil tank
The oil tank is placed at a suitable point where the cap is reachable and the oil level is visible from outside. It is confirmed that the tank cap closes securely.

Making the electrical connection
The product is connected to the motorcycle's ignition-switched 12 V line. There's no need to cut the original wiring. It is verified that the system's power is fully cut when the motorcycle is turned off.

Routing the hose
The oil hose is routed from the main unit to the chain area along a safe path. The hose must not touch the chain, tire, exhaust, brake system, suspension or other moving parts, and must not be sharply bent or crushed.

Fitting the chain application adapter
The adapter suited to the motorcycle model is fixed to the rear swingarm or an appropriate mounting point. The lubrication tip is positioned about 1–2 mm from the chain's O-ring area.

Filling the oil tank
The tank cap is opened and suitable oil is carefully added. The tank should not be overfilled, and the cap must be fully closed afterward.

Running Manual Fill mode
The phone connects to the device's Wi-Fi network. Manual Fill mode is started from the web interface, and it is visually confirmed that the oil travels through the hose and reaches the application tip.

Upright position calibration
The motorcycle is brought to an upright, balanced position. Following the calibration steps in the web interface, the upright position reference is recorded.

Determining the left reference
A left-direction and lean reference calibration is performed so the system can correctly detect its orientation on the motorcycle.

Final checks
A visual check confirms: whether oil reaches the chain's O-ring area, the position of the application tip, whether the hose touches the chain or tire, whether cables are securely fastened, whether the tank cap is closed, whether there is any oil leakage, and whether the device's power is cut when the motorcycle is turned off.

Usage and Maintenance
Checking the Oil Level
The oil level is checked visually through the transparent tank. Under normal use, checking approximately every 5,000 kilometers is recommended. Heavy lubrication use, off-road riding or rainy conditions may require earlier checks.
Adding Oil
The tank cap is opened, suitable oil is added, and the cap is closed firmly again. If the hose hasn't fully emptied, re-running Manual Fill mode may not be necessary.
Chain Maintenance
SBX Chain Box helps automate regular chain lubrication but does not eliminate the need for mechanical chain checks. Chain tension, wear, sprocket wear, alignment, connection points, and damage/rust checks should continue according to the motorcycle manufacturer's recommendations. Chain cleaning may be needed after heavy off-road, dusty, muddy or dirty road use.
Hose Maintenance
When suitable, clean oil is used, the hose does not need to be regularly removed and cleaned. If oil flow decreases, or the hose kinks or the application tip clogs, the system should be checked.
Washing the Motorcycle
Pressurized water should not be applied directly to the main control unit. Normal washing, rain and water splashes do not damage the product; however, the product must not be submerged in water.
Extended Storage
Not using the product for a long time does not damage the system. However, in very long idle periods, a small amount of oil may leak from the hose or application tip. If the motorcycle will be unused for a long time, the chain and the surface underneath the motorcycle should be checked periodically.
Software Updates
In the current version, software updates are carried out at the SBX MotoTech service and installation point in Istanbul. Once the mobile app becomes available, supported updates are planned to be applied automatically through the app.
